About the Bootcamp
The High School Academic Planning and Development Bootcamp is designed to guide students in setting clear academic goals, developing extracurricular skills, building personal growth, and exploring potential career paths. Through a combination of goal-setting exercises, self-reflection, and structured planning, students will create a roadmap for the upcoming year to maximize both academic performance and personal growth.

Participants will:
- Academic Goal Setting: Receive a My High School Vision Planner—a comprehensive tool that empowers students with clarity and direction for both their educational journey and beyond. This planner offers a structured approach to goal-setting, self-reflection, and strategic planning, helping students articulate aspirations, identify strengths, and create a pathway toward their goals.
- Personal Development: Participate in a workshop designed to nurture leadership skills and boost confidence, empowering students to thrive in both academic and extracurricular settings.
- Extracurricular Planning: Learn strategies to select and engage in extracurricular activities that support personal interests and career exploration, developing a balanced schedule.
- Career Exploration Techniques: Gain tools and exercises to begin exploring potential career paths, connecting academic goals with long-term aspirations.

Day 1: Goal Setting & Academic Vision Planning
- Introduction & Orientation
- Overview of the bootcamp, goals, and objectives.
- Exercise: Personal Reflection on Academic Goals
- Students reflect on their academic journey so far and outline key areas for improvement and focus.
- Workshop: My High School Vision Planner
- Guided session where students are introduced to the My High School Vision Planner. They set academic goals, create a mission statement, and outline milestones for the year.
- Developmental Exercise: Strengths & Areas for Growth
- Through structured self-assessment, students identify strengths and areas they want to work on academically.
Day 2: Personal Development & Leadership Workshop
- Workshop: Building Confidence and Leadership Skills
- A hands-on workshop focused on enhancing self-confidence and cultivating leadership skills.
- Exercise: My Personal Values & Goals
- Students complete an exercise to identify their personal values and set related goals, aligning them with their academic and extracurricular ambitions.
- Activity: Mock Scenarios for Leadership & Decision-Making
- Role-playing scenarios to practice leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication.
- Reflection: Personal Development Goals
- Students outline personal growth goals, identifying actions they can take to strengthen their confidence and presence.
Day 3: Year Planning, Extracurricular Strategy & Career Exploration
- Workshop: Creating a Balanced Year Plan
- Using the Vision Planner, students map out a year plan that balances academics, extracurriculars, and personal time.
- Exercise: Exploring Extracurricular Opportunities
- A guided session where students explore extracurricular activities, considering how these can complement their academic and career goals.
- Career Exploration Introduction
- Overview of career planning, with tips on how to start exploring career paths based on interests and strengths.
- Wrap-Up & Sharing Goals
- Students share key takeaways and next steps with the group, reinforcing commitment to their academic and personal goals.
