Shibari South Africa Presents: A Journey of Connection & Creativity – Shibari Workshop in Johannesburg

Step into the world of Shibari – an ancient Japanese art form that combines beauty, intimacy, and self-expression. Join us for a transformative 3-hour workshop that invites you to explore the sensual and artistic aspects of rope bondage in a safe, welcoming environment. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is designed to spark your creativity, deepen your personal connections, and open new pathways of self-discovery.

What to Expect: 

This hands-on, interactive workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with Shibari in a way that is both empowering and educational. You’ll learn fundamental techniques, deepen your connection to yourself and/or your partner, and explore the art of rope as a tool for communication, expression, and play.

In this workshop, we will cover:

• Playful exploration of Shibari techniques and creative expression through rope
• Deepening connections – whether solo or with a partner
• The use of rope as a powerful tool for self-expression and intimacy
• A focus on consent and communication in rope bondage
• Learning foundational knots and ties, and how to build upon them creatively
• Embracing sensory experiences and mindfulness in Shibari practice

Who Can Attend: 

This workshop is open to all – individuals and couples of all genders, orientations, and experience levels. Solo participants are especially encouraged, as the workshop is designed to empower you to explore self-tying with confidence.

What to Bring:

• Yourself, open to exploration and personal growth
• An open mind and heart, ready for new experiences
• A bottle of water to stay hydrated (water and tea will be provided)
• Rope (if you don’t have your own, you can purchase some through the event page on Quicket)

About Your Practitioner: Your guide, Iris-Moon, is an internationally accredited Reiki Practitioner with eight years of experience in intuitive healing . A passionate teacher or the art of rope Iris-Moon combines her knowledge of energy work to create a nurturing space for participants to explore their own self-expression and transformation.
