Keenan Ahrends Trio

After a successful tour in New York, Keenan Ahrends is set to tour South Africa in February. With his trio, his first stop is at Chiesa di PAZZO LUPi, Johannesburg. The performance features compositions from his debut album Narrative and his sophomore album Perseverance: live at the Bird’s eye. He is supported by bassist Benjamin Jephta and drummer Sphelelo Mazibuko.

Ahrends is known for his evocative musical writing, emotive improvisation, and sensitive musicianship. He is an important part of the emerging southern African jazz scene and his flagship sound can be heard on numerous albums and in various projects.
