St Francis of Assisi Church

ABOUT

Listen to some of the most popular choral anthems composed over several centuries. An afternoon with The Festival Singers, led by Owen Franklin, will remind you of the joy of choral singing. Compositions by William Byrd and Henry Purcell will be followed by three works of the doyen of Baroque music, JS Bach. The 1800s will be represented by English composers John Stainer and Frederick Ouseley. The 20th century will feature Owen Franklin's own compositions. Finally, the audience will hear two pieces by the ever-popular John Rutter who celebrates his 80th birthday this year.

Well-known pianist will intersperse these choral anthems with a series of piano reflections by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Grainger and others.

Come and join us for an afternoon of musical inspiration led by The Festival Singers and Owen Franklin with Eugene Joubert.
