Sol Tribe Kids' Craft Workshop Series
Hosted at Soil for Life, Constantia – In Collaboration with Earthskills Africa
Join us for an immersive and hands-on crafting experience designed especially for children aged 7 to 12! At Sol Tribe, we believe in reconnecting with nature through creativity, guiding young minds through the entire crafting journey—from raw materials to stunning, handmade artworks.
What to Expect:
*Engaging Demonstrations – Learn about harvesting, preparing, and storing natural materials.
*Hands-on Crafting – Get creative and bring your unique vision to life.
*Traditional Tools & Techniques – Explore age-old crafting methods in a fun and safe environment.
*Free Play & Breaks – Enjoy snack time and a playful recharge session midway through.
Each workshop begins with an introduction to materials and tools, followed by interactive demos before diving into crafting. A 20-minute free play session ensures kids stay refreshed and energized!
Workshop Schedule:
Monday: Weaving – Learn the ancient traditional skill of basket weaving using rush.
Tuesday: Clay Sculpting – Work with the earth to create your own inspired sculpture.
Wednesday: Leatherwork – Learn basic leathercraft skills and make a stylish stitchless leather bag.
Thursday: Candle Making – Use nature’s resources to craft your own beeswax candle.
Friday: Dyeing – Experience traditional Japanese indigo dyeing on fabric.
