ABOUT
Treat your Friends or Family to an Evening of Stargazing through High-Powered Telescopes!
Join us for "Stargazing with Vic's Telescopes" at the beautiful Casalinga function venue in Muldersdrift. This serene location features expansive open lawns and dark skies, offering the perfect escape from the city’s bright lights.
Make the night even more special by indulging in a delicious meal or drink at Casalinga’s renowned restaurant, either before or after the event. Take aways are also available if you'd prefer a picnic under the stars.
Through powerful telescopes you'll observe the majesty of the moon and even get a chance to take a pic of it with your phone through the telescope! But that's not all, you’ll also marvel at Jupiter (you'll even see the gas clouds on the planet) and Mars. Apart from the planets, you'll also be able to observe nebulae, double-stars, asterisms and star clusters (including the Heart Cluster for the romantics!).
Your guide, Vicus Cruywagen—a passionate telescope maker and observer of the night sky—will kick off the night with a fascinating talk about the universe and the wonders you’ll observe. Then, you’ll have the rare opportunity to view these celestial marvels through high-powered telescopes.
On the menu:
> The Moon - observed through a telescope, it's unlike anything you've seen...
> Jupiter - you'll see its gas clouds!
> Mars
> Double Stars
> Asterisms
> Nebulae
> Star Clusters - including the Heart Cluster for the romantics!
It’s more than just stargazing—it’s an evening of wonder and unforgettable memories. Don’t miss out!

* Insect protection: During summer, mosquito repellent is recommended.
* Food & Seating: Food and drinks are available for purchase from the on-site restaurant (both sit-down and takeaway options). Outside food and beverages are NOT permitted on the premises. Please bring your own camping chairs or picnic blankets.
