JEFFREYS BAY COASTAL FORAGE WORKSHOP

African Perfection, Jeffreys Bay
Join Roushanna Gray and the Veld and Sea team for an immersive coastal foraging experience along the shores of Jeffreys Bay overlooking the world-famous surf break Super Tubes. This half-day workshop explores the edible offerings of the intertidal zone, dunes, and veld vegetation, focusing on sustainable and regenerative harvesting practices.
What to Expect:
We’ll begin the day with coffee and a muffin at African Perfection before heading to the shoreline. Here, you’ll learn how to identify and responsibly harvest a variety of seaweeds, shellfish, edible flowers, and coastal herbs.
After our time on the beach, we’ll return to African Perfection for an interactive fire-cooking session, preparing a fresh, wild-flavoured meal using our foraged finds. You’ll learn about the culinary and nutritional benefits of seaweeds and other coastal ingredients, with guided cooking demonstrations and seaweed talks.
The day will conclude with a light alfresco lunch overlooking the ocean, paired with botanical drinks to celebrate the wild flavours of the land and sea.
