Riaan Smit: The Gypsy Blues Maestro
Riaan Smit, Influenced by Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Howlin' Wolf, and Cab Calloway, Riaan’s sound is rich and eclectic. His stint as a circus Ringmaster honed his world-class entertainment skills, making his shows unforgettable.
A multi-award-winning singer-songwriter from Namibia and South Africa, is known for his dynamic performances with bands Crimson House and The Brothers Remedy. With six full-length albums under his belt, his music blends Afro-gypsy blues with everything from rock 'n' roll and reggae to country punk, folk, and jazz.
A Cape Town blues scene regular, Riaan has wowed audiences at festivals worldwide, having shared international stages with legends like Bryan Adams, Duran Duran, the Chainsmokers and Blondie. His mastery of looping creates the sound of a full band solo, but he loves collaborating with other musicians.
