A Tradition Woven Through History

For thousands of years, basket weaving has been an essential skill in Europe, with evidence of woven baskets dating back to the Neolithic period. In medieval times, baskets were vital for everyday life—used for carrying goods, storing food, and even as a form of furniture. Different regions developed their own unique styles, from the finely woven willow baskets of England to the sturdy market baskets of France and the rush-woven storage baskets of Scandinavia. Today, this time-honored craft is celebrated for its beauty, functionality, and connection to sustainable, natural materials.
