After a packed house in Johannesburg, Magda Wierzycka is coming to Heavy Chef Cape Town on the 18th of September.
Magda gave a scintilating talk at Primedia Place in Sandton earlier in August. During the Q&A section, Magda gave a first hand account of how she is single-handedly trying to tackle corruption in South Africa. Magda shared some of the extraordinary events that have unfolded over the past six months, providing us with a unique behind-the-scenes view of what's going on at the highest level of corporate and political governance.
Now, we're excited to announce that Magda will return to the Heavy Chef stage on Monday 18th September. In the first half of the talk, Magda will relate to our Cape Town community members her journey as a Polish youngster arriving in South Africa not being able to speak English, to becoming one of the continent’s most recognisable business leaders. Audience members will then have the opportunity to ask Magda questions about her mission at Sygnia, how she's aiming to shake up the financial industry, her view on FinTech and the challenges we all face leading up to the 2019 elections.

Workshop 17
Heavy Chef partnered with Workshop 17 in 2017 to host our events. This inspiring workplace, based in Cape Town's iconic Waterfront, has a wide variety of offerings, including a world class events space. Situated at the old Watershed, next to the Aquarium, with views of Table Mountain and the working dock, this stunning setting gives Heavy Chef's audience a proper experience of Cape Town whilst participating in an awesome event. Workshop 17 is an exciting hub that exists to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship for a positive social and economic change. It is now the work place of more than 240 entrepreneurs, innovators and professionals and 80 companies. Corporates, government and civil society use the space daily for meetings, teachings and events.
