M.I.A. in SA - Johannesburg

 

The visit by the international star will centre around screenings of the acclaimed documentary, MATANGI/MAYA/M.I.A. as well as two live shows that, which will feature a specially curated selection of South African dancers, artists and DJs. 

 

 

In a campaign that is directly in line with both M.I.A. and Black Major's joint vision of genuine inclusivity, true interaction and honest collaboration, this project will not centre around large venues, formal communication and high-priced ticketing that artists of M.I.A.’s standing can command -particularly when visiting a country for the first time-. Instead, the build-up to the documentary screenings and live shows will be largely focused on public interaction and feedback from the audience and artists we engage and work with – with a strong visual element to the entire campaign that’s in keeping with the creative underpinning of MATANGI/MAYA/M.I.A.
