ABOUT
Kilometers 4 the Kids 2018
The 2018 initiative, Kilometers 4 The Kids, is an organisation-wide fundraising initiative to empower our staff, students and families in our Kenya and South Africa schools, to walk, run or jog Kilometers 4 our Kids! We have over 100 participants running the 42.2 km Marathon or 21.1 km Half Marathon of the Soweto Marathon on 4 November, 2018. Our family in Kenya will also be participating in a similar challenge of running the Nairobi Marathon on 28 October, 2018.
Nova Pioneer’s Kilometers for the Kids (K4TK) 2018 vision to continue to build on the work of 2017. This is to launch innovative spaces where students and teachers can gather to invent, collaborate, and learn – providing hands-on learning experiences and building STEAM-related skills that will empower ‘Novaneers’ to shape the future.
In the process we hope to create a sense of camaraderie and build the team spirit of the Nova Pioneer Family through working together, supporting and motivating each other.
Why are we running Kilometers 4 the Kids?
K4TK is a vessel to achieve our objective and we hope to raise a R 800 000. Our mission is to use the funds raised through K4TK to invest in curriculum/equipment, teacher training, and student scholarship opportunities.
