"Soweto unfiltered...unplugged" - Craft Beer, Cider & Music Festival

 

In the middle of Beer-Month October, on the banks of the Klipspruit River, in the very heart of Orlando West, THE UBUNTU KRAAL – CULTURAL VILLAGE,  will be transformed into an exciting craft beer, cider, township food and raw music venue. Positioned to showcase South African’s amazing craft beer, cider and untapped music potential, “Soweto unfiltered…unplugged” is set to become a major event on the Joburg's social events calendar. 

 

Joburg's thirsty thrill seekers will flock to this two-day craft market and township eatery destination. Tourists visiting Joburg seeking an exciting, authentic and dynamic, South African township experience are sure to also frequent the event. The same is true for thirsty suburbanites keen to experience the vibrancy of the iconic township over the weekend.

 

Ubuntu Kraal Events has partnered up with reputable shuttle and taxi service operators to allow all Joburgers a safe journey to and from this action packed event. And for the 'die-hard must party two days’ revellers, there is accommodation available at the Ubuntu Kraal or nearby at comfortable Orlando West B&B’s within a short walk from the venue. The award-winning Soweto Hotel has also partnered up and is offering a festival special over the weekend.  

 

“Soweto unfiltered…unplugged” is launching its first annual event on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of Ocotber 2014 from 10am to 10 pm daily.  All market stalls and vendors have already been booked – with over 12 top quality South African micro-breweries and cider producers presenting more than 30 different craft beer and cider types. 

The event is set on the stoep of the Ubuntu Kraal Brewery and visitors will be allowed a peek into the magic kitchen that is the "Home of Soweto Gold" – named "No 1 Craft beer in South Africa 2014" by www.leagueofbeer.com

 

Ubuntu Kraal Events is working with the Acorn Foundation [www.acornfoundation.org.za] and R10 from every ticket will be donated in support of a sustainable Sowetan Charity Project. All the micro-brewers have also donated prizes and Acorn Foundation will sell raffle tickets during the event.
