The musical collaboration of Robin Auld and Steve Walsh goes back over 40 years, when they met surfing the Outer Kom and discovered a musical connection. Playing 70’s roots and blues material such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan, along with originals, they toured the restaurant circuit nationwide from Cape Town to Pretoria.
They are both familiar to Eastern Cape audiences with Steve being resident in St Francis and Jeffreys for many years, and Robin still touring the coast regularly. With the formation of Auld’s band Z-Astaire who had several classic SA hits, and Steve going into the world of musical theatre singing lead roles in shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, they followed their own paths for many years.
?More recently Steve’s battle with cancer took him off the circuit, but they have been playing shows again, rediscovering old tunes from their old set together and adding more recent songs from both their catalogues. Audiences have been responding enthusiastically to their simple harmonies and guitar arrangements…a great and nostalgic show!
