FIRST THOUSAND DAYS: Early Life Insights Event
Mon Jun 3, 19:00 - Mon Jun 3, 21:30
Common Ground Church - Rondebosch
ABOUT
The first thousand days (FTD) of a child’s life, from conception to two years old, offers an incredible opportunity for the local church to make a positive impact in the developmental trajectory of the child. All research states that this early investment has the power to significantly change the course of South Africa's future. There are a number of practical ways to encourage, affirm and increase the capacity of parents and caregivers so that they can provide the responsive nurturing care their young children require to thrive and flourish.
Common Good, is passionate about equipping and empowering local churches to support mothers, fathers, and caregivers to provide the necessary nurturing care to ensure the healthy development of the youngest amongst us. Hence, Common Good is designing various church-based resources, tools, and initiatives based on evidence-based best practice that will positively impact families and children in their FTD.
We are excited to have you join us at this upcoming event to explore more about how you can practically and effectively support parents as an active Christ-follower seeking to show love, kindness, and empathy to those around you.

The topics of the evening will explore practically what the local church can do gathered and scattered to ensure that all children thrive and flourish during this "once in a lifetime opportunity" that FTD presents. We will weave the science and theology of FTD together and highlight stories and testimonies of people who are involved and what they have seen making a difference. You will leave freshly inspired with next steps that you can take as you seek to play your role in seeing society transformed.
