This February, Weheartbeat are proud to represent the South African beats scene alongside LA’s major beats collective, Soulection, for one night only at Maboneng’s Poolside, hot off the back of the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival. Here at Weheartbeat, our presence within the various spheres of beat-centric sounds could not have become what it is without inspiration from pre-existing forces such as Soulection, as well as the various producer-DJs who have made our cause worth every second, including Mellow Orange’s Freddie Joachim & Yusai, Eric Lau and Chief & Deheb who have graced both our shores and lineups. While the summer sun is still on our side, Weheartbeat residents Symatics and JustThemba , as well as the legendary Raiko and Y?NO$$, will accompany Soulection co-founders Joe Kay and Julio Galvez, aka The Whooligan in a divine day-to-night exploration into the music we have come to love, and have yet to fall in love with. Join us as we experience the future unfold with the sound of tomorrow!

Joe Kay is the co-founder of Soulection, as well as host of Soulection Radio and an active DJ in the worldwide music community especially at home in LA. As Head of A&R for Soulection, Joe oversees all artists while always digging for the timeless "Sound Of Tomorrow." A lover of music and a visionary in his own right, Joe sees no obstacles in his path, creatively problem-solving as he approaches every situation with compassion and an open mind. Joe's commitment to increasing visibility for good music and educating the public is achieved through the weekly 3-hour broadcast on the legendary Rinse.fm (London) every Saturday.

Julio Galvez aka The Whooligan, manages worldwide bookings for Soulection. A citizen of the world and 10+ year resident of San Francisco, this seasoned DJ, producer and event curator brings a unique perspective to the label infused with passion, optimism and inherent positivity. As a trusted source of insight and ground breaking music for numerous events, venues, fashion brands, music outlets, and local businesses across the globe, Julio’s zest for life, ability to identify fresh music and creative culture first has lead him to collaborations with brands like MTV, Def Jam and PUMA.
