Silent Walk
ABOUT
Since 2014, “Silent Walk” where everyone walk on the road with ear plugs to create Deaf Awareness;
The Premier of the Western Cape join, other Western Cape
Ministers and our South African Celebrity (MC) will be joining the walk.
The event is very interesting because the hearing (non-Deaf)
people will have the opportunity to try and understand what it is like being
Deaf. Do they feel different when they cannot hear anything? Will they still be
able to walk if they cannot hear? – All this type of questions will be asked on
that day of the event. The participants will be wearing ear plugs to make sure
they can’t hear anything for at least one hour of their life time in Deaf
Awareness Month, September.
