Steeped in the glittering iridescence of early cinematic fantasy and swirling with the vivid beauty of breathtaking modern creativity, Short & Sweet Cinema cordially invite you to park your bonnet at this season’s debut of the City Bowl Drive-In….
Featuring a diverse programme of ground-breaking feature films and nostalgic enchantment, Cape Town’s original pop-up drive-in cinema will take place every Thursday in a secluded urban field, nestled in the heart of the city bowl and framed by Table Mountain.
Join us at the Good Hope Seminary Junior School sports field on Thursday March 12th for the open-air premiere screening of ‘Into the Mind’ (2013), a groundbreaking documentary we’ll be on the city's largest outdoor inflatable screen.
Tickets are allocated by vehicle lane. See map below for the parking layout then choose which lane you'd like to park in. Vehicle placement on screening days will be managed on a first come, first parked basis.
Food trucks & refreshment stand will be operating from 6pm onward.
Date: Every Thursday in March/April (premieres on Thursday 12th March)
Time: Film screened from 8:00pm. Gates open at 6:00pm.

No motorcycles permitted
No dogs/pets permitted
No open flames/braaing
No weapons or illegal substances
No alcohol to be brought onto premises
The organisers will not be held liable for any damages/incidences due to negligence on behalf of ticket holders.
WEATHER & THE CANCELLATION OF SCREENINGS
Should the weather on the day of the event impact on our ability to host a safe and successful screening, the drive-in will be postponed to the following Sunday. All ticket holders will receive an email and/or SMS notification by 16h00 informing them of the postponement. Please also keep a lookout on our website, Facebook pages, Quicket event page & Twitter feed.
Should the weather on this back-up screening date (Sunday following first cancellation) also prevent the hosting of a safe and successful screening, the drive-in scheduled for that specific week will be cancelled indefinitely. All ticket holders will receive an email and/or SMS notification by 16h00 informing them of the cancellation.
Should the screening be cancelled, all tickets will be automatically validated for entry to the following Thursday’s screening. Ticket holders will be given the option of transferring their ticket to another individual.
Unfortunately NO REFUNDS will be granted should the screening go ahead on either Thursday or Sunday (back-up screening day).
If a drive-in is cancelled, ticket holders will receive an email notifying them of this cancellation. Email correspondence will include a link that allows you to choose a different date, transfer your ticket or ask for a refund.
Ticket holders will have 72 hours following the notification of cancellation on the back-up screening date (Sunday following first cancellation) to exchange their tickets before they are voided.
Tickets will not be refunded or exchanged under any other circumstances.
