Beerhouse on Long Street

ABOUT

Lakeside Beerworks' Morne and Pierre-Charl met at a braai. Move forward in time, and they've bought the Valley Brewery in Kommetjie and are making some of the best beers in South Africa. On 27th April, Beerhouse invites you to join the master brewers to hear their story, sample their beers and relish the mouth-watering gourmet food pairing prepared by Beerhouse Head Chef Roy MacAskill. Apart from the excellent fare, the evening promises beer education, laughs, Twitter competitions and much more. See you soon, Beerlovers.

LAKESIDE'S DELICIOUS BEERS

mixed thumbnail
London Ale (4.5%)
This beer marks the return of Valley Breweries’ much loved London Ale. It is brewed with only the best locally sourced ingredients and the quintessential English yeast that gives it that something special. With it’s mild hop and malt balance, finished with a creamy white head, this is an ale to enjoy many times over.

IPA (6.6%)
This is a contemporary West Coast American style IPA brewed with distinctively American C-Hops, Amarilla ad Summit. A strong malt presence balances the intensity of the hops – some may even say I am a Double IPA… you decide!

American Pale Ale (4.5%)
Not your typical insipid pale ale. Mildly hopped (36IBU), with a rich malty backbone and accompanied by a great hop presence.

Red Ochre Ale (4.5%)
An ale with its roots in Ireland and its subtle roasted caramel like mouth feel. Overtones of caramel derived from crystal malt coupled with enough hops (IBU 22) to leave a slight lingering bitterness. Hold your glass up to the light and enjoy the red ochre hue.

Hefeweizen (5%)
This is an award winning cloudy German style wheat beer. Hefe means yeast and weizen wheat – literally a yeasty wheat beer. Predominant flavours of banana and hints of bubblegum on the nose proliferate, with clove on the tongue and a crisp finish.
