Natalia Da Rocha, multi skilled singer, actress, director, scriptwriter and youth activist was the first drama graduated of Colour from Stellenbosch University in 1981.
Her accolades of being the first continues when she was contracted with her singing partner Sam Marais to be the first South African people of colour to perform as leads in a Sun City Extravaganza.
On returning to Cape Town in 2001 she created Applauz, a project training young talent from currently disadvantaged communities with husband Kurt Egelhof . Projects of Applauz, Wa Was Djy The Musical, a tribute to the musicians of Colour of the 60's and 70's who recorded against all odds during that time, Slavin a commissioned musical about our slave heritage, Adam Small BeJazzed , paying tribute to the poetry of Adam Small. Natalia has produced/directed Jennifer Jones, Mynie Grove, Gloria Bosman, Nianell, Felicia Marion, Dizu Plaatjies, Brandon October, Crushanda.
She is the CEO of SoloAfrika Festival of MonoDrama a festival focussing on solo actors performing their own stories.
Her latest directorial project is the Retina S.A. Ripped Genes fundraising Concert since 2018 working with blind, sighted and partially sighted artists on one stage.
Being part of the Fallen Notes project Da Rocha brings her creative and scriptwriting skills to the creative concept of multi- talented Musician, Songwriter, Producer and Director Keegan Williams
Williams has worked with huge amount of Artist in and around South Africa, gaining a respectful place in the industry , Debuting his album in 2019 Songbook of My Life he staged a local city tour show casing his project.
Also directed his first ever Musical in 2017 Celebrating the life of Nico Apollis a friend who has inspired Keegan Musical Interest at a very young age.
Keegan Williams has been Professionally involved in the Industry for 20 years , Has worked with the likes of Jimmy Dludlu , Ray Blue , Brenda Fessie, Musa Manzini Robbie Jansen, Hilton Schilder, Judith Sephuma Simphiwe Dana, Allou April, Loading Zone, Camillo Lombard to name a few.
Fallen Note is Keegan Latest Creative source and Collabrating and Co=Directing with the wonderful Natalia Da Rocha.
This productions looks at the multitude of brilliant musicians that end up penniless and on the streets.
This is a phenomenon that attracts much attention from the media when "Famous" Musicians find themselves on the streets begging with no other means to support themself.
What are the factors that contribute to this unjust reality.
Natalia Da Rocha is one of 30 artists who will be inducted into the South African Legends Museum on the 26th Jan 2020 for her contribution to the performance/Music industry and her continuous development of young talent And For me to Work Together with her on this project is thrilling.
