By end of 2022 we have raised an incredible R309,425.00, which is a great way to finish off the year. R109,425.00 was raised on Quicket and R200,000.00 via private donations. By October, we have raised a total of R432,840.00.

Thank you to each and every person who has donated money and time, shared the fundraiser and supported this cause. It is truly appreciated. Looking forward to raising the other R67,160.00 by end of 2023.

Support a child’s education in South Africa by donating to our Community in Action fundraiser.

South Africa as a country, has many obstacles, with access to education being a major concern. I would like to play a small part in trying to address this by organising a fundraiser to award one child a full Waldorf primary school scholarship, who, due to their circumstances, could never dream of attending a Waldorf school.

I have a keen interest in sports and have recently take up triathlons, focusing on the Ironman 70.3 races. This is a 1.9km swim, 90.1km bike and a 21.1 run. I completed my first race, although unofficial, in early June 2022, and intend to complete many more. However, I would like my training and racing to have more purpose and meaning than only the pure satisfaction of completing a race. I have, therefore, decided to marry my two passions, Ironman 70.3 races and education, and in particular a Waldorf education. I have already done 1 race in June this year and will be doing a second race in November. I already completed 2 Ironman 70.3 races in 2022. I want to encourage others to help me achieve my goal of raising the funds to offer this scholarship.

My aim is to raise R500,000.00 which will be used to offer one child from an underprivileged home a full primary school scholarship to the Stellenbosch Waldorf School, in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. I aim to raise this by the end of December 2023.

I have chosen the Stellenbosch Waldorf School as the Waldorf education not only provides an academic education but develops the child holistically throughout their schooling career, emphasising the journey more than only focusing on the outcome.

No matter how big or small the donation is, please consider helping me raise these funds to put a child through school. Every bit will make a difference in the life of this child.
