Khula Promoting School Attendance in South Africa

About

We at Khula DG focus on school attendance for vulnerable children at risk of school dropout.

Did you know according to the latest International statistics, 8 out of every 10 grade 4 pupils in South Africa can't read for meaning?

We are working really hard to reach all vulnerable primary school children in our communities, but now we are asking South Africa to help us in keeping our children in the schools and off the streets.

The amount of children from disadvantaged communities that drop out of the school system in South Africa is enormous. We can simply not sit back and watch while our youth are dropping out of school because of abuse, hunger, or lack of developmental capabilities. This is to name only a few of the reasons our 6 to 11-year-old children disengage and never reach grade 7, let alone finish grade 12.

We employ 33 passionate employees with a heart for the youth and the education system of our country. With the help of our facilitators, social workers, and occupational therapists, we really make an impact.

We wholeheartedly believe in what we do and we desperately need the People of South Africa to help us in building the future of our youth in this country.
