Friends of Salvazione

Becoming a Friend of Salvazione is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of the children of Salvazione Primary School.

It's only through the support of organisations, individuals and foundations that we're able to meet the educational needs of a poor and disadvantaged community.  

Donate upwards R3,000 a year (R250/month) and help contribute towards a child attending a special school.

The beginnings

Salvazione Primary School opened its doors in 1991 to accommodate underprivileged children from the Slovo Park informal settlement south of Johannesburg who were unable to attend the local schools due to their dire financial and personal circumstances.

Today

There are currently 219 learners from Grade R to Grade 7 and Salvazione is dedicated to nurturing and developing the potential of every child. The school offers a balanced curriculum, is well-governed and its finances are prudently managed. The school is supported by the dedication and efforts of staff and parents of The Ridge School, Auckland Park Preparatory School and St Katharine's School.

The situation at Salvazione is unique in that only around 5% of the school’s income is raised from school fees, with the majority coming from donors such as you.

A bright future

It's our responsibility to ensure that the children who are entrusted to our care receive a quality education in safe surroundings. Various alumni of Salvazione have now gone on to successful secondary and tertiary study and can attest to the positive impact Salvazione had on their education and outlook on life.
