Raine Tauber

Raine Tauber is an elite international makeup artist currently based in South Africa with more than 20 years professional experience. 

Raine’s career journey is a story about being at the right place at the right time. “My mother was in the film/fashion industry and I used to assist her on set when I was a teenager.” Through assisting her mom, Raine met and connected with a few photographers. “One day a make-up artist called in sick, and a photographer called me to fill in as he was desperate. From then I knew this was what I wanted to do.”

After 6 years of freelancing Raine joined MAC and shortly after that joined the training team responsible for the development of the retail teams. Over the next 7 years Raine honed her skills at artistry as well as understanding the business of beauty and the importance of trends as the Global Senior Artist for MAC.

A few years later and she is creating makeup for Paris, London and Milan fashions weeks and has headed up the local fashion week makeup teams for the past 15 years. She has worked on some of the most celebrated runway shows such as John Galliano and Lanvin, on some of the most renowned faces such as Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid. 

Raine has also had the honour of working for international publications such as i-D & Ellegant magazine as well as the local big hitters Glamour, Cosmo, Elle and Marie Claire.

Some of the incredible brands Raine has worked with over the years include GHD, Bo & Luca Giambattista Valli, Vogue, Moncler, Gavin Rajah, David Tlale, Maxhosa, Topshop, KLük CGDT, Chanel, Perrier Jouet & Vetements.
