Thula Baba Project

Thula Baba Project believes that as first educators of their babies mothers when given the support, knowledge and tools can change the outcomes for their children.

For this reason Thula Baba Project facilitates programmes that educate and support expectant and new mothers, by providing incentives to encourage attendance at ante-natal, post-natal and ECD education programmes as well as clinic check-ups and vaccinations.

The core focus is on mothers’ early parenting education and involvement, by encouraging maternal love, bonding and support which in turn improves their baby’s life longer term and results in positive outcomes.

The packs and buckets that form the incentives include tools such as books, early ECD toys and baby wearing slings. These equip the new mothers who learn to read to and engage with their babies to create an environment that stimulates learning

We collect and distribute donations of new, pre-loved and made baby clothes, blankets and toys. Essential toiletries and nappies are also always a feature of our packs.
