Distance For Difference

Distance For Difference (D4D), is a registered non-profit organisation which, since 2005, made a significant impact in the wellbeing of children in South Africa. D4D use sport to generate funds for distribution to various children's charities. This is done through individual athletes who find sponsors for every km they run, cycle or swim during a year, while training or participating in specific events, e.g. the Comrades Marathon, the Absa Cape Epic, IRONMAN, The Cape Town Cycle Tour, etc. Secondly, D4D hosts two fundraising events – alternating every year between the GRATITUDE Run and THE500-24Hr-Cycling-and-Spinning-Challenge. We also launched the SWIM 4 HOPE brand in 2023. Over the past twenty years, D4D raised and distributed more than R13 million. Some of our beneficiaries include Patch Helderberg, Kingdom Kids, Little Angels, Sylvia's House, Tzadokah Foster Home, Esther van Zyl, Gabriella Centre, Heartlands Baby Sanctuary, Kin Culture, just to name a few.
