Centre for Agile Coaching

About

The Centre for Agile Coaching evolved out of Just Plain Agile coaching, who provided agile team coaching and enterprise coaching directly to teams and organisations since 2008. Coaching is a form of leading – leading without authority. Over the last few years the need to grow coaches, agile leaders at all levels and agility at senior and executive level have taken up a lot of energy in Just Plain Agile, leading to the decision in 2019 to pivot and focus exclusively on growing agility at the individual level. The decision culminated in the creation of the Centre for Agile Coaching, dedicated to growing the skills, knowledge and ability to coach in others. We help you to help yourself, develop you so you have the ability to develop others.

We are the leaders in Agile Coaching and Facilitation education and development in South Africa and have been offering agile coaching training since 2017, when we launched the Agile Coaching Institute (ACI) courses with Lyssa Adkins locally. Lyssa is the author of Coaching Agile Teams, the best-selling handbook for Agile Coaching, and one of our many gracious and generous partners. As a niche coaching and development organisation we grow and develop ourselves and our clients through partnering with thought and industry leaders, of which the accomplished Marsha Acker’s Team Catapult, our latest partner, is an excellent example. We believe in going out in the world and bringing the best home to South Africa and Africa – at prices that make it possible for locals to attend. In the process we get the opportunity to train internationally, as well as collaborate in the creation of new courses and programs. Antoinette thus forms part of the Adventures with Agile faculty, headed up by the talented Simon Powers, to offer Enterprise Agility and Coaching education and also co-leads a deeply transformative Enterprise Transformation Lead cohort program with Michael Hamman, author of Evolvagility.

The only permanent members of the team are Antoinette Coetzee and Annalien Veer. Yet we never work alone. We call on the members of our large network when we need capacity, expertise, thinking partners or just collaboration in general. We prefer it that way – not only does it make us lean and therefore able to offer our services at the optimum cost/value ratio for our clients, it also means that we can focus on what we are good at and learn from others. This practice amplifies growth and learning for all involved – and continuous learning is one of our core values.

We help you to help yourself; develop you so you have the ability to develop others.
