About
Songo.info is an education and cycling charity based in Kayamandi, a vibrant yet impoverished township outside Stellenbosch, South Africa. Songo.info was founded in 2008 by Swiss mountain bike World Champion and Cape Epic winner Christoph Sauser and the late Burry Stander as well as local community sports advocate, Songo Fipaza.
From a humble desire to build a safe space for children to play on bikes, Songo.info has evolved into an intensive academic and sports programme focused on creating a long-term impact for the community. Today the Songo.info clubhouse includes a BMX track, computer lab and full-time coaches, teachers and tutors as well as a school feeding programme.
