What is a PechaKucha 20x20?

Each PechaKucha presentation follows the signature 20x20 format: 20 images, each shown for exactly 20 seconds, auto-advancing as the speaker shares their story.

The result? A fast-paced, energizing 400-second presentation where visuals and words work together to captivate the audience.

PechaKucha was founded in Tokyo in 2003 by architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, and has since grown into a vibrant global movement.


The word “PechaKucha” is Japanese for “chit chat” — the spirit behind every event we host.

"I’m curious about who made it to Lion’s Head at 5:55 this morning! I wonder if the bird perched on my washing line managed to catch a delicious bug. How often does the cable car operate throughout the day? Is there a BDSM gathering taking place in my village at this moment? After an intriguing evening at @Pechakucha#65, I find myself filled with questions. I appreciated the 20x20 format; I prefer not to hear someone go on and on.
