Queerwell

Queerwell is an organisation established in 2019 as a response to the lack of access and availability of

psychosocial support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTIQ+)

individuals in South Africa. LGBTIQ+ persons are vulnerable to various types of mental health problems

associated with sexual orientation, gender identity, addictive behaviour and social backgrounds. Queerwell

provides accessible care and support through a client centred approach by offering care, support,

community programming, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and linkages to professional assistance
