The Korean word gganbu (??) means "close companions" or "old and close friends". It can also mean "partner". In the Netflix series Squid Game, an old man tells the lead character, Gi Hun, “We are gganbu”.
The term gganbu refers to people who share everything with each other, help each other in difficult situations, and are close companions, like blood brothers.
